and models of English language teaching. Methods and approaches to
teaching English as a foreign language reflect different attitudes
regarding the teaching of grammar. This paper briefly analyzes the
role of grammar in each of the teaching methods, and how the
grammar should be explained according to each method. Particular
importance is given to two major approaches; the inductive and
deductive approach. The PPP (Presentation, Practice, and Production)
Model and the TTT (Test, Teach, Test) Model of teaching language are
also briefly analyzed. The study was based on quantitative and
qualitative research method. 126 high school students from Mehmet
Akif Colleges and five English teachers from the same schools
participated in this study. The data obtained through the interviews
and the questionnaires is the basis of the study. The results of the
study reveal that the students and the teachers preferred more the
deductive grammar teaching. Another main finding of the study is that
