Abstract :
According to research carried out by the Digital Observatory on Health and Safety at Work and the Social Security Statistical Yearbook, in Brazil, about seven hundred thousand people suffer work accidents each year. From 2012 to 2016, there were 3.5 million cases, with 13.3 thousand deaths, in Brazil. In this scenario, job security is of an emergency nature. The objective of this research is to identify how the construction workers understand the risk that is an activity that they exercise and to verify if their employers are complying with the regulatory norms of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, which govern worker safety, but specifically with the use of NR-6. Among the countrys economic sectors, one of the fastest growing is civil construction. With this sudden growth, the number of accidents within construction sites has reached surprising numbers. To combat these statistics, companies must seek increasingly effective methods within the area of work safety. This article discusses the importance of PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment), constant training and safety programs are the basis for reducing the number of accidents and deaths within the construction industry.
