Abstract :
The early introduction of food is influenced by several factors and can cause damage to the baby's health. Among the most common are inadequate nutrition and infections caused by contaminants present in food, in addition to generating greater risk for allergies due to physiological immaturity. Food allergy is an adverse reaction to a particular food, which involves an immune mechanism with variable clinical presentation with symptoms that may appear on the skin, in the gastrointestinal and respiratory system. The aim of this research is to describe the relationship between food allergies and early food introduction. The article was prepared through a bibliographic review extracted from articles. As the results point out, it is important to emphasize that exclusive breastfeeding in the first six months of life is extremely important, since the nutritional and immunological richness of breast milk in this phase cannot be replaced by any other type of food, it is noted that in aspects early introduction is unfavorable, as it increases the risk of contamination and allergic reactions, interfering with the absorption of important nutrients from breast milk and implies a risk of early weaning. Therefore, it can be concluded that food allergies have increased a lot over the years, mainly due to exposure to industrialized foods containing additives and other contaminants that are bad for the body, cross contact and poor hygiene of food, it is important that mothers seek nutritional guidance, if tell them how and when to introduce new foods to make it a healthy and enjoyable process for the family.
