Abstract :
The main purpose of the design is to produce a functional part that meets all usage requirements such as: working temperatures, mechanical stresses, and chemical resistance. When considering the molding of plastics by the injection process, one must consider the multitude of factors that can affect the results both in terms of performance and economics. The mold is the central core of the injection molding process, it is the tool that gives the desired shape and surface texture to the molten plastic and determines the condition of the final article. The mold also has an influence on the internal stresses of the molded part and consequently a significant effect on the properties and performance in the end use of the same. In the present work, a sequence of followed operations is presented to obtain a design of mechanical parts (case and cover) by the plastic injection method for manufacturing with ABS material, in this case where a printed circuit board (PCB) will be installed, as well as the others. Inputs and outputs that guarantee its functionality in a given application. The results obtained showed the viability of the sequence followed and it is suggested the application of these concepts in the practice of plastic injection of products with similar characteristics.
