Abstract :
The constant search for improvements in processes (operational or administrative) is essential for associations that aim to grow and differentiate themselves in the competitive market, with a focus on increasing profit, by adding value in products/services and reducing costs in operation. These process improvements must be carried out in a systematic, standardized, and planned manner. Known this context, this article aims to highlight the results obtained through the Kaizen philosophy in a logistics process in an industry in northern Ceará. This article is characterized as applied research, of an exploratory-descriptive character, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, using the case study as a methodological procedure. To carry out the research, systematic technical visits were made to observe the process of collecting finished products for the specific stock to identify opportunities for improvement through the application of the Kaizen philosophy. As a result, it was identified that the car that transported the finished products to the stock showed an idle capacity of 50%. Thus, they were analyzed as possibilities for increasing capacity, verifying 3 scenarios, in accordance with the ergonomic and health and safety standards of the workers, without adjustments in the production layout and with low implementation cost. As a result, it was possible to implement scenario 3, with the use of 4 wagons as opposed to 3, improving its operational capacity from 50% to 67%, respecting all safety and ergonomics guidelines. With the implementation of the new scenario, it was possible to obtain a 33% increase in productivity, increasing the results of only one operator in almost 41 thousand boxes transported monthly.
