Abstract :
Chronic Kidney Disease is defined as progressive loss of nephrfunction, which in turn leads to loss of its ability to filter blood and maintain homeotase. In view of the great socioeconomic impact associated with high morbidity and mortality rates. Moreover, this research has as general objective to trace the clinical and sociodemographic profile of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease in a hemodialysis clinic in a municipality of Amazonas. This is a field research, exploratory, descriptive, transversal quantitative in nature. The research was carried out in the hemodialysis sector in a small clinic, linked to the Unified Health System (SUS), in Manaus, capital of Amazonas. The participants involved in this study were people between 18 and 59 years old, diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease undergoing hemodialysis treatment for more than 3 months. We interviewed 85 patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). The main cause of the disease is the main cause of the disease, Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH) and Diabetes Mellitus. Of these, some patients did not undergo conservative treatment, others reported having companions in dialysis sessions and/or predominance of Arteriovenous Fistula (AVF) as access. Regarding positive feelings after they started treatment, some interviewees reported relief, and also reported anxiety about negative feelings. Currently, more than half of the sample do not follow up with the psychologist. It is noteworthy the importance of conducting this type of research in order to know the profile of these patients, and thus create policies aimed at preventing chronic kidney disease and reducing the impact of the disease both on public health and on the lives of patients, besides contributing to the scientific advancement in the nephrology area.
