Abstract :
This article aims to present the development of a low-cost prototype based on the Internet of Things (IoT) for fire detection and prevention in residential environments using NodeMCU ESP8266 technology. This system has the ability to monitor and collect, in real time, the variables of the residential environment, through temperature sensors and flammable gases, and send them via WiFi to the web interface. The research allowed using the concepts of the IoT ecosystem, a study on sensors and the NodeMCU module. However, the objective of the work is to reduce the problem of the shortage of projects aimed at fire detection and prevention devices for residential environments. In addition, the conventional methods of fire detection system are based on wired systems monitored by a central that is usually installed in the concierge or reception, most of the systems are only warning and not prevention, the devices are difficult to acquire for residential environments due to its high price in the market. As a result of the experiences described throughout the project, the values of the parameters monitored by the sensors will be displayed in the web interface.
