in buildings of public schools in the City of Manaus / Amazonas. The
main focus is on energy efficiency, since it is estimated that Brazilian
public buildings use about 80% of all electricity available to the sector.
This system presents a preponderant factor for analysis in view of the
level of energy consumption to be economically unviable. Thus, it is
proposed to outline an energy profile of the Public Schools of Manaus
in order to identify energy consumption performance indices, more
specifically those that are more relevant to permeate the discussions.
Since the type of buildings selected for the work are public schools, it is
estimated that some quantities will be used as reference for the Specific Consumption calculation. It is worth mentioning that each of these
reference quantities provided a particular view of energy use. Thus, the
use of a diversified energy performance index favors the obtaining of
more relevant information. It was mobilized in this study the
consumption of all the year of 2017, relating school days, the amount
of students, classes, classrooms and shifts. As a methodological tool the
work presents an analysis of the specific consumption taking into
