Abstract :
Management is the brain and heart of the whole team, with the manager having the function of delegating functions, integrating professionals as a team, ensuring the qualification and improvement of the individual in order to offer quality and safe care to the patient. This research aimed to identify the contribution of the nurse manager in the obstetric clinic to humanized care during childbirth. This is an integrative literature review study of articles published between the years 2015 to 2020 in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and Databases of nursing (BDENF). At the end of the research process, 15 articles remained that met the purpose of the research. From the thematic analysis, the following categories emerged: 1. Demonstrate the functions of the nurse manager in the obstetric sector. 2. Analyze the benefits of training obstetric nurses in humanization. 3. Cite the characteristics necessary for the manager in humanization. It was verified with the study that the importance of the manager in the obstetric clinic goes beyond the elaboration of the shift schedule. The manager needs to have qualities that will favor the implementation of protocols and routines, as well as perform the interaction between the multidisciplinary team working. Favor and encourage the performance of technical and practical improvement activities as well as the sensitivity to collaborate with the awareness of the need for humanistic care.
