Abstract :
This research was based on systematic review studies on the importance of the oncology pharmacist in patient safety. The role of the pharmacist is to provide greater safety for the patient regarding his therapy, the professional interacts in a multidisciplinary way with doctors and nurses, in which he is responsible for intervening and alerting the doctor about drug interactions, dosages, ensuring safe treatment and effective to the patient. The purpose of this outcome was to analyze factors that may be caused by different errors that interfere with the patients treatment, prescription errors, dispensing, administration, consumption and monitoring of medications, which can cause serious damage to health even the death. Given this context, our research project has the following question: What are the interventions of the oncology pharmacist in patient safety. The searches were carried out using the PICO strategy, which facilitated the data collection made by the structured question. It is a systematic review with meta-analysis the literature search was performed through the databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Google Academic, were identified the publications potentially eligible for this review, which passed the eligibility criteria (inclusion and exclusion). The article was ased on bibliographic research, the paramount importance of the pharmacists work in the oncological area, since the patient is in a vulnerable state of health, needing specific monitoring and care to obtain a safe and effective treatment.
