Abstract :
Amazonas is considered one of the states with the largest number of isolated points in the National Interconnected System (SIN), being very dependent on thermal generation. In this context, the Amazonas energy matrix diversification, through Small Hydroelectric Power Plants (SHPs) implementation, is presented as a potential alternative as it reduces consumers' electricity bills, especially for those who live in distant communities and municipalities from the capital. We propose preliminary technical procedures, which make use of data available in institutional technical-scientific studies, in order to verify the possibility of implementing SHPs in the state of Amazonas. By applying the proposed procedures in hydrographic regions of interest, it was possible to estimate the installed power, propose types of SHPs, as well as present the most suitable turbines considering hydrographic, topographical and geological aspects of the region.
